A TOWERING AROMA.
PHIX was invited by The Macallan to bring their classic 90s poster ad, "The Colossus of Nose" to life. Drawing on our rich history working with the brand for over 10 years creative director Philip Sansom wrote and directed a script that encompassed the humour and originality of the luminary work produced by the advertising company Holmes, Knight & Ritchie for the brand during the 90s.
The original poster (below) features on the new bottle and box of Folio 8 the 8th release in the archival series. PHIX created a 30 sec spot for social media & in-store, including 15 sec cutdown and accompanying key visuals.

Script
The script was crafted by director Philip Sansom, who drew inspiration from the iconic advertisement conceived by David Holmes and Nick Salaman in the 1990s. Embracing the nostalgic essence of 90s advertising, we relished the idea of celebrating the ascent of the Colossus of Nose, where our adventurers, basking in the glory of reaching the summit, discover with dismay that they have left behind the bottle of golden whisky….
Talent
The film features the original writer Nick Salaman, whose presence on set was a highlight for our team. His kind words gave credit to the care and attention we took to honour the original poster “What you have managed to create is truly commendable. Perfect..”
To portray the lead adventurers, we couldn't think of anyone more fitting than our multi-talented friends and actors, Murray Lachlan Young, Alex Dillion and Gala Botero, who all brought a blend of wit, charisma, and an extra layer of depth to the performances.
