THE COLOSSUS OF NOSE
PHIX was invited by The Macallan to revamp their classic 90s poster advertisement, "The Colossus of Nose." With over a decade of collaboration with the brand, creative director Philip Sansom crafted a script that captures the humor and originality of the work produced by the advertising agency Holmes, Knight & Ritchie during that era. The original poster is now featured on the new bottle and packaging of Folio 8, the eighth installment in the archival series.
PHIX delivered a 30-second spot for social media and in-store displays, including a 15-second edited version and supporting key visuals.

Script
The script was crafted by director Philip Sansom, who drew inspiration from the iconic advertisement conceived by David Holmes and Nick Salaman in the 1990s. Embracing the nostalgic essence of 90s advertising, we relished the idea of celebrating the ascent of the Colossus of Nose, where our adventurers, basking in the glory of reaching the summit, discover with dismay that they have left behind the bottle of golden whisky….
Talent
The film features the original writer Nick Salaman, whose presence on set was a highlight for our team. His kind words gave credit to the care and attention we took to honour the original poster “What you have managed to create is truly commendable. Perfect..”
To portray the lead adventurers, we couldn't think of anyone more fitting than our multi-talented friends and actors, Murray Lachlan Young, Alex Dillion and Gala Botero, who all brought a blend of wit, charisma, and an extra layer of depth to the performances.
